The 21th 2013 OKINAWA MARATHON

Finishers List 2013

   The Okinawa Marathon runs through different cities,towns,and villages in central Okinawa.   The marathon aims to encourage people to enjoy running and increase their fitness level throughout Okinawa.   The Marathon Race Committee hopes that the marathon will help the international and inter-cultural exchange, too.   The committee also hopes it will add to your memorable experiences while on Okinawa.

New Information

  • Now applicants can confirm their number cards on the Okinawa Marathon official website !
  • If you check and keep your number beforehand, you can pick up your number card and a T-shirt or a towel easily at a gymnasium of Okinawa Comprehensive Park in Awase from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sat. Feb. 16, 2013, or from 7 a.m. on Sun. Feb.17, 2013.
  • We recommend you to come to the gymnasium of Okinawa Comprehensive Park in Awase from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 because it is easy to get your number card.
  • The gymnasium will be crowded with applicants on Sunday February.

Okinawa Prefecture Comprehensive Park is located in Awase, Okinawa city. Please be familiar with the area of the Park in Awase.

DESIGNATED PARKING LOTS

  • Parking within the Comprehensive Park is prohibited on the race day.
  • Please park your vehicle at the Designated Parking Lots:
    • AEON(JUSCO) Gushikawa
    • Awase Fishing Port
    • Kitanakagusuku Fisherman's Association
    • Shopper's Awase
    • Okinawa City Hall
  • Parking Lots are available from 07:00 a.m. on the race day.
  • To take public transportation: Buses, Taxies, and Carpools are highly recommended. Tow trucks will remove any illegally parked car around Okinawa Comprehensive Park.

Registration Fee

Full Marathon Adult 4,500 yen
High school student, the age of 16 or older 3,500 yen
The age of 65 or older 3,500 yen
10km Road race Adult 2,700 yen
High school student, the age of 16 or older 1,200 yen

Marathon Distance Options

  • 42.195 km (approx. 26.4 miles)   :    Full marathon
  • 10 km (approx. 6.25 miles)   :   Quarter marathon

Eligibility

Any healthy man or woman of any nationality, 16 years old and older as of February 17th, 2013.

Entry

*Application form is accepted between November 1st, 2012 and December 10th, 2012.
*Applications will close when the prescribed number of applicants is reached.
  1. Pick up and submit application form at any following locations. (Yen only);
  2. Fill out the application form and turn it in, to any locations listed above. Our office is located on the Grand Street near-by Exit 4 (call us at 930-0088 to get the direction) with the entry fee (YEN only).
  3. Make sure to keep the receipt.   You will need it for the race number pick-up on either February 16th (10 am-8 pm) or February 17th (race day).

If you prefer to make a payment using a credit card, you have to register via Internet
*179yen will be charged apart from the payment commission.
*5% of entry fee will be automatically added as the transferring charge

  1. Go to the follwing Link to access to internet registration.
  2. You will receive a confirmation letter via e-mail when your registration procedure is completed.
  3. Although you will not see the confirmation number on it, you need to keep the letter as your receipt, and present a copy of the letter when you pick up your number tag.

   Okinawa Prefecture comprehensive Athletic Park (Awase), where the Okinawa Marathon starts, is not the Stadium where The Okinawa Marathon Executive Office is located (Koza).    Please be familiar with the area of the Athletic Park in Awase. For the traffic regulations and parking information, please refer to the attachments.

Terms and Conditions

(Before filing the application form, be sure to read and understand the list of agreements below.)

  1. Applicants can't blame the organizer for loss of personal property and theft during the event.
  2. In case of accidents and illness, liability of the organizer is limited to emergency treatment. The organizer will deal with illness, the other accidents during the event within the terms of the insurance which organizer will take out.
  3. Once an application has been submitted, cancellation for refund or alterations to event registration details will not be permitted under any circumstances.
  4. Illegal participation (participation by a person other than the registered runner) as well as falsifying age or gender is strictly forbidden. It will result in cancellation of entry.
  5. Entry fee will not be refunded if the race is cancelled due to natural disasters such as earthquakes, storms, snow, or accidents/incidents beyond the race organizers' control.
  6. In case of the third terms and the fourth terms mentioned above, overpayment, double payment, paid amount will not be refunded.
  7. Copyright of images, photographs and articles appearing in various media covering the event, such as television, newspapers, magazines and the internet, is reserved by the race organizer. Aforementioned copyright includes but is not limited to names and other personal information such as age and address (country, prefecture and city only) of entrants mentioned in the article covering the event.
  8. In addition to the aforementioned agreements, the event will adhere to all race regulations.
  9. The local organizer recognizes the individual's right to privacy and will take all appropriate steps to keep individual's information confidential. The information provided in the application form will only be used to provide better sevice, such as providing guide and instructions to participants or reporting records and other information to the runners.
  10. In order that you will be able to confirm your number card, Okinawa Marathon Executive Committee will put your name, sex and number card on the Okinawa Marathon official website before the Okinawa Marathon takes place.
  11. The race results will be published in the newspaper and on the website. The runner's name, sex, age, nationality or city, rank and time will be posted.
