   The Okinawa Marathon runs through nine different cities,towns,and villages in central Okinawa. The marathon aims to encourage people to enjoy running and increase their fitness level throughout Okinawa.The Marathon Race Committee hopes that the marathon will help the international and inter-cultural exchange,too.The committee also hopes it will add to your memorable experiences while on Okinawa.

Number Tags are given to runners at Okinawa Prefecture Comprehensive Athletic Park in Awase.
You can also get the number tags on the day of the marathon which is on Feb 24th Feb.2008, before the race starts (07:00-).

   Okinawa Prefecture comprehensive Athletic Park (Awase), where the Okinawa Marathon starts, is not the Stadium where The Okinawa Marathon Executive Office is located (Koza).    Please be familiar with the area of the Athletic Park in Awase. For the traffic regulations and parking information, please refer to the attachments.

 
Full Marathon
  • Adult 4,000 yen
10km Road race
  • Adult 2,500 yen

(The fee includes the insurance and a commemorative T-Shirt or Towel.)


  • 42.195 km (approx. 26.4 miles):    Full marathon
  • 10 km (approx. 6.25 miles):    Quarter marathon 

Any healthy man or woman of any nationality, 16 years and older.
**The 2008 Okinawa Marathon Headquarters and staff and other sponsors will not be responsible for any of your accidents during or after the race resulted from the poor health conditions.

 
*Application form is accepted between November 1 and December 28, 2007 .
1. Pick up an application form at any following location; Risner Fitness Gym (KAB) , Semper Fit Athletic Gyms(MCCS), or download an application form.

2. Fill out the application form and turn it in, to any locations listed above or visit our office located on Grand Street near-by Exit 4 (call us at 930-0088 to get the direction) with the entry fee, 4,000 yen for full marathon, and 2,500 yen for 10km road race.

3. Keep the receipt and bring it when you pick up your number tags the day before the marathon day. We will give you number tags only by exchange with your receipts.

4. Internet Entry:
If you prefer to make a payment using a credit card, you have to register via Internet (Be aware that 8% of the service fee will be charged.)
Go to the follwing Link to access to internet registration. You will receive a confirmation letter via e-mail when your registration procedure is completed. Although you will not see the confirmation number on it, you need to keep the letter as your receipt, and present a copy of the letter when you pick up your number tag.

12:00 Full  Marathon
  • Top 6 finishers of males and females
13:30 Full  Marathon
  • Top 3 finishers of males and females in each age categories.
    (1. Over40-under50, 2. over50-under60, 3. over60-under70, 4.over70~under80)
  • An Eldest finisher of male and female.

  • Early registration is recommended. The registration is limited to 10,000 runners for full marathon, and 1,000 for 10km road race.
  • Help us to spread about the Okinawa Marathon to your friends and family and neighbors and go for the challenge.
  • Okinawan newspapers, TV stations, and On-Base newspapers will also give you the information about this event both before and after the race. Okinawa TV (OTV) will have a special program showing the highlights of the run.
